UPS on Tuesday took delivery of its 50th Boeing 767-300 Freighter.
The new plane, registered N352UP, further expanding what was already the world’s largest fleet of 767 cargo haulers. It has nine more of the aircraft on order.
“The Boeing 767 Freighter is the workhorse of our fleet,” said UPS Airlines President Mitch Nichols in a statement. “This versatile widebody is an important element in UPS’s global logistics network, helping us reach over 200 countries and territories each day.”
“UPS is one of the world’s premier air-cargo carriers,” said John Wojick, Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president of North America Sales, in a statement. “They have demonstrated the versatility and high reliability of the 767 Freighter, helping establish it as the preferred airplane for the mid-sized freighter market.”
To that end, UPS’s 767 fleet operates with a 99 percent dispatch reliability, one percent better than the aggregate operator number of 98.
Based on the 767-300ER airliner, the 767 Freighter can deliver a 58 ton load 3,225 nautical miles.
