Allegiant Air Jet Makes Emergency Landing at Paine Field

An Allegiant Air McDonnell Douglas MD-83 airliner made an emergency landing at Paine Field in Everett, Wash. on Monday. No one was injured.

The plane, which had just taken off from Bellingham, Wash. enroute to San Diego, reportedly suffered an engine malfunction, causing a warning light to go off in the cockpit.

All 160 people onboard were unharmed, and later were bussed back to Bellingham to board another plane. Paine Field would not have been able to accomodate another plane due to its lack of security screening, according to a Seattle Times report.

Photographer Dan King happened to be at the airport for the Japan Airlines Boeing 787 delivery event when the Allegiant jet landed, when he was able to snap these photos:
