• JetBlue Airways and American Airlines both stranded passengers for up to seven-and-a-half hours on at least one JetBlue flight and one American Airlines jet which diverted to Bradley International Airport in Conn. during Saturday’s freak snowstorm, and now the US Dept. of Transportation is investigating. It is not clear how long some of the other dozens of flights were stuck, but some quick math reveals JetBlue and American could be on the hook for nearly $10 million in tarmac delay penalties just for those two flights.
