The Spirit AeroSystems complex in Wichita that builds every Boeing 737 aircraft fuselage suffered a direct hit from a tornado on Saturday, damaging at least 10 buildings and knocking out power.
The Kansas factory that builds the fuselage of the Boeing 737 and many other aircraft components remained closed on Monday after a tornado tore through it on Saturday.
Two months after a tornado shuttered a Kansas factory that builds many critical Boeing aircraft components, some of the airframer’s top brass visited Spirit AeroSystems to pay thanks to the men and women who quickly got the factory back up and running.
