Transatlantic Flights Grounded as Canadian Air Traffic Control Center Evacuated

September 10th in Aviation History: 1,000th Boeing 747 rolls off the assembly line

Hijacking at LGA and an aircraft collision over Europe in 1976; Flights from Hungary to West Germany began in 1989. In 1993, the 1,000th 747 was completed.
