    Tokyo-Narita 17-03-2017 (photo heavy!)

    Hello everybody,

this week I'm working to fix an item on my bucketlist; spotting at and visiting Tokyo. Here's an impression of my first afternoon at Narita. I arrived at 10.30 with SAS via Copenhagen from Amsterdam. After passport control and customs I went up to the observation deck on Terminal 1:

    1. Narita is a heaven for Dreamliner-lovers with many airlines operating the type with ANA and JAL, like this one, are the most common:

    2. Korean Air B737-800 taking off from 34L on it's way to Busan:

As you can see the sun was almost to far around, so I moved to Terminal 2 and started on the left-hand observation deck:

    3. FedEx has a large operation at Narita with many B777F's seen during my first two days:

    4. I had splendid warm spring weather, which was nice, but did ruin some pictures due to heat haze as is visible on this picture of this China Southern B737-800:

    5. One of the three Japanese low-cost airlines operating A320s from Narita is Vanilla Air:

    6. My first Hello Kitty A330-300 from EVA Air:

    7. JetStar Japan is another A320 LCC:

I then moved to the right hand deck to being able to take some more pictures of planes taxiing.

    8. Not as much JAL B737-800s as I expected:

    9. Every departing plane gets a send off by three ground crew waving the plane goodbye as can be seen in this picture of this JAL B777-200ER:

    10. Ofcourse Dreamliners from ANA can also be seen:

    11. Jeju Air from South-Korea B737-800 sporting the new livery:

    16. Another type of ANA and JAL pretty common at Narita is the B767-300ER:

    17. China Airlines came with this special liveried A330-300:

Nice set Anton .... I visited Narita and Haneda in 2016 during last Jan and Feb. It was a great trip, so spotter friendly and the variety was great.

Great shots. The planes in/out of NRT are changing so much compared to several years ago. It used to be dominated by the 747s and the 777s. Now there are so many narrow body planes.
