Boeing announced the other day, a $16.6 billion, 80 aircraft deal with IranAir 50 737 MAX 8s, 15 777-300ERs & 15 777-9s.

Putting the politics aside, Iran could really use some new metal. The are a pretty "western" nation in terms of technology, but their average aircraft age is not beneficial to the safety of their people and the people in the area of the airports they fly to in other places.

These folks are still flying the F-14 as a primary fighter bomber. The US retired them in '06 after the final D model was launched in the 90s. Iran's mods actually probably make theirs more advanced than ours were but still light years behind what other nations are fighting with. (not that I want them to have a more advanced military haha)
