Need to catch some of those Air Canada heavies. Getting tired of just seeing CRJs at JFK.

They have 6 789s currently in their fleet. I believe more are expected.

Last night we had a very early Cargolux arrival. They normally arrive in the wee hours of the morning. Taken 15 minutes after sunset.

Since this was taken handheld and in low light. How did I do considering I shoot with a D7100. Thanks for the feedback.

Well, you won't have to be tired of them much longer. Air Canada is withdrawing from JFK soon.

Below is Westjet sporting the new maple leaf logo of theirs. It was introduced on tail 671 of their 767 fleet. Now the 737s starting with tail 842 will carry the new logo.

I haven't posted my latest for a while unless you follow me on Flickr. Here are some of the latest.

I made the 2 1/2 hour journey north to Edmonton Saturday morning to catch Iron Maidens' 747 before it departed to Vancouver. Some photos take patience to get and this one was one of them. After leaving the airport for a while for breakfast, I came back and police and FBO security were there and many Maiden fans showed up to see Bruce and the crew.

This charter from DFW was supposed to be a 757 like it was 5 days earlier. It ended up being 8 hours late and landed minutes before sunset.

American Airlines B763 N380AN by Dueck Images, on Flickr

Then I heard from a buddy about the rare TAG Aviation 757 making a tech stop in YYC onward to who knows where. A very nice catch for a rare aircraft.

Westjets last 767 delivery came in April 12th in the evening. I went out yesterday to grab a photo of it. The last one was the hardest to photograph.

    Below in order of delivery.

    A few from the weekend.

First we had a C-17A Globemaster III arrive from BZZ (Brize Norton) for the RAF.

Then for most people on here they see Sun Country lots, we have them run a casino charter for one in Laughlin Nevada.

Finally we got a 777 instead of a A320 for a YYZ-YYC-YYZ routing yesterday afternoon. Seen here landing 17R.

The elusive Sunwing Airlines leased plane from Hapag-Lloyd. Its a regular visitor to airports in eastern Canada, but is rarely if that seen out west. I knew about it from seeing it transit YYC the night before, hoping it would make another appearance coming back through on its way to warmer destinations. It did.

This morning YYC got another look at Bombardiers C-Series 100 test aircraft.

It arrived for a short 1 hour turn then headed back YMX (Montreal Mirabel) where it arrived from.

Something I forgot to post from earlier this month was a 737-200 classic with the gravel kit.

Its been a while since I have showcased some of YYC's latest aircraft. Here is an extensive post from the last couple weeks.

Its nice to catch this bird on its North American tour.

This summer Air Transat started sending their B738s domestically between YVR-YYC-YYZ-YYC-YVR on Mondays and Tuesdays. Below are both planes from the past 2 Mondays.

I don't know how frequent any spotters from the US see the United Star Alliance 737s, but I now have both the B737 and B738 in my collection.

This photo was taken 15 minutes after sunset. This plane was on its delivery from MCI-YVR when it had to divert to YYC as the plane that was flying Air Canada 850 that night was struck on the inbound arrival by lightning and taken out of service. This plane has been flying since it got to YYC, the YYC-LHR-YYC routing. Also this plane had its first revenue flight from the first photo below.

The Cathay Pacific/Cargolux hybrid plane had a bird strike one of its instruments on the fwd fuselage. It turned back and sat all day waiting for parts for it to be fixed.

Last but not least, the classic 727. It was a equipment swap.
