    JFK 5-24

I'm guessing most everyone will be out at JB or enjoying time with their families/significant others, but here it goes anyways. I'm on the way out to JFK (Appx 1200 arrival)for the afternoon/evening. Plans are to possibly test out the 150-600S on some departures at Howard before heading to Panera/The Mounds depending on traffic. If anyone else it out it'd be fun to meet up and team up for some shots in what is looking like beautiful weather!

So the 150-600 did end up making its JFK debut this past Sunday, though it wasn't at Howard Beach. Halfway through the drive to JFK the 31L/R arrivals turned into a 22R, 13L split that was particularly unfriendly for spotting. Nonetheless, the majority of the day was spent at the Mounds, followed by a run over to a park near the 13L approach path (the name is escaping me at the moment) when 22R was removed from the rotation. Here's the results of the first half of the day!

Great job Mark! Although I'm sure you noticed the difficulty of using this lens for A380's(unless your aim is closeups) :)

Thanks William! Honestly one of my goals with this lens was to get more of the closeup/crop/tight head on (not including the whole wing/tailplane) type shots as you saw with that A380.

The areas I was shooting from at the Mounds wasn't really good for that type of shot with the heat haze I was fighting, so with the exception of the whale, I shot as I normally would. Believe it or not, that A380 shot was taken at 320mm, so I did have a bit of a ways to go on the wider end if I had really wanted to.

Sweet shots Mark! The lens looks like it's going to serve you well. I've been waiting for my copy of the 150-600mm for months and final got to test it out. It was definitely worth the waiting. I'm sure you must be happy with your new lens too.

Thanks Mark! So far so good on the Sport, now I just have to get more time out at JFK to fill up the hard drives with better shots!
