    Dallas/Fort Worth Area: May 16-18, 2015

    Hey Guys!

After a long respite to focus on my final semester of college, I have been easing back into the hobby. I decided to hit DFW twice over the course of this past weekend, and made a quick run to the local NAS to see if anything military would drop by. I wound up having a little luck despite forecasts calling for heavy rains.

A huge delay in HKG translated into nice light against a purple backdrop

With all the uncertainty surrounding the future of this airline, I definitely was happy to shoot them again.

Loved the late afternoon contrast here

6 hours at DFW netted 2 757s, I am afraid the extinction has begun

Thankfully the MD-80 still roams free

And to Fort Worth, where one of the locals was showing off a bit in the pattern

And Derby75, a visitor from the Kentucky ANG who lost the #2 engine (it is shut down and feathered, but the fuselage prevents seeing that) and made an emergency landing at NFW.

    Thanks for checking it out!

Nice shots man, some nice soft lighting on those.

Talking about dodo birds, those MD-80's don't have much longer before they become carrier pigeons themselves, at least the 75's are getting repainted

All wonderful! The AA MD82 is money btw. Wedged in between the watchful eyes of the tower and AA ramp littered with aircraft.. nicely done! Also, the photo of the herc is framed so nicely. Clean, crisp and appropriate. Thanks for sharing your weekends haul Nick.

Thank you all for the kind words!
William- I will be a sad man when the MD-80s go... I doubt I'll visit DFW again when that happens ;)

Skyteam, I was quite pleased with that C-130 so I appreciate your comment! I wish it hadn't required a likely expensive mechanical failure, but I'll take what I can get. 2nd ANG Herc diversion I've caught at KNFW with a #2 engine failure... Maybe the DOD should pay me to keep away :D

I continue to be jealous of the awesome light! Related, I can confirm the 757s are leaving at a prodigious rate.

Thanks Jeremy! Just imagine if we could combine the subjects you see with my light....

These two photos fall outside the date range in the title, but because I have such a current DFW area thread open, I thought I would sneak them in here. Two nice visitors at Alliance.
