Oman 747SP KADW and Patuxent NAS KNHK Trip Recap

    Greetings,
I just for back from my second Patuxent (KNHK) trip. I managed to clean up on a several aircraft and new ones that I did not get during my last trip in August. It was very fruitful, however I must add that overnight at KADW the night before gave me a chance to get some shots of an unexpected visitor. The Oman SP definitely topped off my shots this time around. I had given up getting any shots of this rare aircraft. I guess even the least of us can have a little luck in the end. It arrived a few days before the US-GCC Summit in the DC area and it was a total shock to see. Anytime I manage to get a new 747SP into my collection this late in the game it is an indescribable success. Several other Gulf State counties had arrived a few days before and after. All of which I already have many times over so I did not bother to photograph them. The Czech A319 even had the nerve to show up. Shooting at KNHK this time was similar. I seem to attracted blazing heat when I go out and about. Lots of heat haze, top lit shots and poor lighting made shooting difficultly as it did before but despite all of that it was just as rewarding.
I will start with the Oman 747SP.

Unexpected to see this today (5/14) from the backyard as I was shooting contrails with my 500mm + 1.4x teleconverter. She was very well south of me, this is the best I could do given the circumstances.

I was trying to see it from my back yard for a shot but the trees were too dense now that spring has set in. So long A4O-SO.... Senga

    Outstanding!!!
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
