    KFLL 4-12-15

After the miserable weather at JFK on Friday, I was eager to make the most of a morning spotting jaunt to FLL before hopping on a cruise later in the afternoon. I was awoken by my alarm at 0700, followed very closely by my girlfriend excitedly telling me that Vets in Blue was on descent and would be landing pretty soon. After setting a non-firefighter record for getting up, dressed, and on my way to the airport, I arrived just in time to catch Vets from the incredible southern spotting park. After catching the prize, I went back to pack up and drag her along for a nice morning of spotting. The results are as follows:

So the light wasn't quite perfect... but damnit I got Vets!

    ... plus I didn't have to wear a coat, so that's a plus!

Bravo Lima Uniform Echo was my ride down to FLL the previous day.

And finished the morning off with a pair of 737s coming in from the great white north

Great story and pictures! Your girlfriend was excited about Vets in Blue??? I probably don't need to tell you you're a lucky dude. That shot of the Carnival jet really shows off the wingspan don't it

I couldn't be any luckier in that regard Will, she's got damn near infinite patience when I get in spotting/airshow mode, and is even willing to tag along (though she admittedly spends less time with the camera pressed against her face, but I'm not gonna complain!). She got up and literally checked Flightradar24 for me before I was even fully conscious (then went back to sleep while I went out and got the arrival shots). How she didn't break up with me over that vacation is still a mystery considering the number of side-quests to various airports along the route, but I'm happy for it regardless!

The G650 has one heck of a wingspan for sure and is quite a beauty. Not quite as fast looking as the Citation X, but definitely more graceful.
