    Phil that is an excellent piece that covers a lot of ground. And THANK YOU for addressing the mental health element the way you did, as a psychologist that researched some of these topics I very much appreciate that. The science of initial pilot selection and follow-up evaluation has been in evolution since WWII. But it doesn't work in isolation, it has to be coupled with training the entire airline operations community of to be able to recognize red flags AND a culture backed by the carrier that supports the self-reporting and treatment of mental illness. That seems to happen to different degrees depending on the carrier and national culture.
