Virgin Atlantic 787-9 inaugural KEWR arrival Pics

    Greetings,
I went out for the Virgin 787-9 at KEWR this afternoon. Unfortunately the clouds cleared just as the plane flew by. I'm still happy to get this one as I love the latest VIR livery.

I love the 787 , after the 747 in its various iterations, and any piston propliner its my favorite ship to spot.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

I just ocan't appreciate a good portion the stuff we are seeing these days. However I do find new military transports are changing as well but they excite me just as they did years back. One that comes to mind is the JMSDF Forces P-1

Good choice, everything excited me as a kid, those 1st and 2nd generation jets, and last generation propliners were a joy to behold! There were the exotics BOAC VC-10s, CSA OKjets Il-62s, Loftleidir Cl-44s, and then the 747s , and Concorde, the golden age of spotting 65-'03, but the 787 motivates me these days along with the 777 stretch, and the A340, and A380, the last of the MD-11s, and of course the 747 in all its various shapes and iterations, it is all good !!!

I agree 727C47, I am fortunate to have started when I had. Being able to get a good swath of the final remnants of the"Golden Age" of aviation was an awesome experience. Unlike now back then I used to go out to watch as well to take pictures. Seeing a line of 727s take off one behind another was common place.....I always thought it would be like that forever. Thanks Mark, I agree. It looks great on the A340-300 as well. Senga
