    Washington Dulles, 1/10/15

First outing of 2015, with about an hour and a half left of daylight. From the Udvar-Hazy parking lot, with a lot of harsh direct light that made it difficult to get a balanced exposure. These are all 1R arrivals. Departures were off RWY 30 so none of those here. They had a fire alarm in the tower while I was listening in, which caused them to evac the cab and transfer traffic mgmt elsewhere.

My first Speedbird Super, I think their livery looks great on the flying forehead!!!

Unfortunately Virgin's 789's are only running 5X a week to IAD until later this month!

    "Astrid Viking", in Star colors

    my first scimitars

    "Niedersachsen"

    Thanks for your compliments guys.

Dude, if I caught any trouble in THAT lot.....I think I would have to just give it up as far as planespotting went. It would be like being at the petting zoo and having some ignoramus say "Don't touch those animals!"

I'd better not tell you about the time I was threatened by arrest and detention by the TSA, DHS, and Airport PD on suspicion of terrorism while spotting at Udvar!

    Wonderful shots, William!

Great catches William! Love the BA Super (forehead and all). Nice SAS too. I haven't caught an SAS bird since the late 90s.
Need to get over to EWR, or Dulles for that. I no longer have client business in PHL, so I haven't been down your way in a while. Hope to see you out at JFK this year.
