Was up there in DECEMBER with the wee XL
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

Great catch on the smoky start-up from the Florida One. Those are always exciting to watch from inside the cabin. Passengers sitting in the window seats always say something about the mass of smoke spewing from the back of the engine.

Not sure which is worse - people freaking out over that or the panic that ensues while riding in an Airbus taxiing with one engine on... even after explaining to a woman last week that it was just the hydros, she was convinced that something was seriously wrong!
