    JFK - 12/28/2014

Stepped out for some evening shooting just to get out of the house. All shots were hand held except for the Avianca. Unfortunately didn't have the opportunity for any clean shots (too many tails).

You're killing us with these awesome night shots Mark, keep it up!
I'm not sure if it's been asked before, but what lens have you been using for the evening spotting?

For the night shots I use the Nikon D4s and mostly the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. I shoot wide open with an ISO value set to either 8,000 or 10,000 and then wish for the best. Hopefully one of the images comes out sharp but with noise. If you get a sharp images you can clean up the noise and have a some what useable images. For taxi shots I'll shoot with a monopod to help stabilize the camera and lens.

I'm actually surprised the ISO is that low on those shots, but regardless they're always a treat to see. Thanks for the insight!
