    JFK 12/27/2014 - 31L and 31R

Hi, everyone! I finally got out this past weekend (for the first time since UN Week) because I wanted to catch the Azerbaijan A345. Mission accomplished, and here are my shots from the rest of the day! Great to see everyone who was out!

Started the day at Panera for 31R. Thankfully, in the winter, the sun crosses over pretty early so even though I was there at 8:15, only the noses were a little bit dark.

I love this livery. No matter how many times I see it, I'll always shoot it.

Fly Jamaica 767, first time seeing this!

Then we moved to 31L for the AZAL departure, and caught some other traffic as well.

    Early turn!

New JetBlue tail (Tartan) with a funny name (Etjay Luebay)

    "Jetihad"

    The highlight of the day!!

The 777-200 looks so fat and stubby after seeing so many 777-300s making the same turn.

Then we made a pit stop inside the airport perimeter for this C-17, presumably here as support for Biden's visit to the NYPD funeral.

Back to Panera for the rest of the day with a few specials and nice surprises.

    New winglets!

US Airways plane in the new colors!

    FINALLY caught FDNY!

The only Swiss A330-300 missing from my collection:

Another highlight of the day: Alitalia EXPO special!

    JetBlue's 200th aircraft.

    Then the light turned glorious!

Hope you all enjoyed, I'll be back out in the spring!

I and two of my friends from Pennsylvania (their second trip to JFK) made the trip up to JFK that day... great meeting you Antonis and of course shooting the breeze with Jared and Jason and Don. Here's my video:

Steven I love your work , your JFK spotting videos are background noise for this geek !!!
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
