    That was quite a descent rate for an aircraft with compromised gear....but as the saying goes, any landing you can walk away from....

    Definitely a high descent rate given the circumstances. I would say he was trying to knock it loose, but that seems pretty damn irresponsible knowing the gear was likely up and locked. Most importantly everyone survived, so we'll just take that as the positive.

    The inside word I heard from an ATP friend is that the Captain "pounded it" on to knock that outboard gear loose.
