Number 5 sucked in a bird on Saturday. Recovered safely to FRG, but damaged the engine. They flew with the spare Sunday, and the plane is stuck at FRG until they replace the engine.

Damn birds!! Wow!! Glad they made it back safely! I have to say from all I've read from different people these last few days the Breitling Team were nothing but classy and warmly embraced by everyone around here!!

Yes, but I don't think they went to the beach. The AAM sponsored the CAF birds visit, not the JB show.

I met the Breitling team leader as well as a couple of other team pilots, and they were all very friendly and were really enjoying their visit.

Not everyone went to the beach but at one time or another everyone was up and flying giving us thrilling Fly Bys and opportunities to see these wonderful aircraft airborne!!
Today it was the same!! Great job AAM.

They go to Rhode Island next so were probably in no hurry to leave NY.

We went on Saturday. Got to the toll booths on the Wantagh at 9:15 am and there was NO ONE! Of course this year I finally got the Empire Pass, so could just sail past them with no cars in them of course. The noon to five setup wasn't bad actually. The day went fast. TBs wrapped up by 4:30. We drove away from the parking lot by 5:30 at the latest with NO TRAFFIC! Wow. The last time that happened was the year of the Sequestration. Last year was crazy with the Blues. No love for the Air Force? Or was it just too cold?

Very nice shots folks. So...did anyone get a shot of the B-24? I know it isn't as photogenic as the -17 but its beautiful in its own right

Haha it was pretty brisk there Friday including the quick rain shower when the Tbirds came in. Saturday I was at Wantagh Park watching and it was a bit chilly (needed sweatshirt) and then
Sunday I was at FRG listening on the radio and Rob Reider was making fun of Wayne Boggs who was dressed like it was the middle of the Winter!!
