Duh, of course. I read "Antonov" and just assumed "old". I've been salivating over the Cubana planes all week and didn't put 2 and 2 together...

And via Ben on Twitter, the Burkina Faso 727 was at FRG this morning.

    "Iraq was B77L YI-APZ"

Mateo , i searched and got not results with that reg for an Iraqi 777, not sure what's up. How come nobody has posted any pics of it?

Cool air to ground shots on the above post. The legoland type shots form a helo perched above LAX and everywhere else I'm not a fan of, but these look nice at SWF photographed lower and closer.

    it's YI-AQZ iso APZ

Aircraft arrived and departed JFK in early foggy morning of 28 September and arrived & departed again September 30th on a windy evening.. I'll post some pics when I get back home next week.

one minor correction. UR-ABA did not fly directly out of SWF. It got back to JFK on 29 September and headed out the same eve.

AAAAAGGGGHHHH, the French/Togo Falcon was at Stewart when I was there, and would have been blocked behind the IL-76. I was able to see the lower half of the fuselage on the Honduras Legacy (read FAH-001 off of the nosewheel doors) and the tail of the G550 (671LE), and I must have at least seen a smidge of the F7X, but in the chaotic visual environment I don't think I pieced together that there was another aircraft hiding back there. Thanks for posting this image, Stephen; shows me where the blind spots are, and where I'll have to pay special attention whenever I go back.

Whoops on the Iraqi. Only the Venezuelans went direct out of SWF that night, but I saw the 319 then returned the next night, too!

Great shots everyone! I was quite pleased this year with the amount of traffic I was able to catch, despite the Pope visit. As always, it was nice seeing familiar faces as well as meeting new people. I'll share my UN shots here, the rest of the shots from this trip can be seen on my Flickr page.

Saw Angola Falcon D2-ANT today at the executive ramp in Miami. Also Kazakhstan 757 UP-B5701 in maintenance at Miami (Opa Locka) apparently not UN related

Here's a shot I took of the Iraqi 77L on the ground at Stewart. Alas, I missed being able to get a good shot in the air by a few seconds and it ended up passing right over me, backlit.

Iraqi shot looks nice. Shame they didn't apply the much better old livery to these new Boeings. That 777 would've looked spectacular

Watched the Italian A319 depart HPN this week, and saw some of the other heavy iron at SWF up,close and personal earlier in the week, not a bad UN week for a working tour !!! : )
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
