I don't think I've posted these here before. 2 MAFFS birds from the 146th AW, based at Channel Islands ANGB flew a few missions out of Prescott during the Yarnell Fire containment effort, just 3 days after Prescott lost 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. The weather was fairly bad that day (I was shooting in the rain using a plastic bag as a rain cover, and the operations were stopped for a while due to the crosswinds at the airport). The planes were also fighting another fire that had just ignited near Kingman and were regularly flying out of Willie.
