YSSY/YSRI-July 2014: Last Hurrah in Sydney

    Hey Guys,

Seeing as I was staying with a fellow spotter for my last few days in Sydney, we logged a fair amount of time at the airport during those last 2 days. It was a nice way to close out my photography down under. Here are a few shots from SYD, and from RAAF Richmond, an air base on the perimeter of the city.

I took in the nice light from Qantas Drive one last time

Qantas even saw fit to send VH-OJS, the 747 I flew on to start my journey to SYD from JFK

And Etihad sent the 1 A340-600 I didn't have a good shot of

We then moved to Foreshore drive, where I got lucky with a few special liveries and one jet that had eluded me whilst in Australia

Was nice to shoot VH-OGG one last time

    And the daily ANZ 763

Then we relocated to Richmond briefly in the afternoon, and again the next morning where we caught this same C-130 arriving and then departing the next
    morning.

And that does it for me from Sydney. I hope to upload my terminal shots from Hong Kong in the next few days.

    Thanks for looking!

Nick: Following your spotting adventures in Australia has been a treat. You captured countless aircraft in breathtaking light during your time down there. What a collection you've amassed! -- I can't help but admit I am a bit envious of your opportunity to shoot far-away SYD and the surrounding airports in golden winter light over the course of many months. I'd love to hear about your travels down under next time you get to VA; maybe pick your brain about spotting in Oz for when I next get down there, whenever that may be :-D

Fantastic Photos. Congratulations on your entire haul from Australia, mate!

Thanks all! This was a great way to wrap up my time in Sydney, which certainly wound up netting me far more nice photos than I had ever imagined.
