Yay for the JFK Turtles! I heard a mention of "turtle clearing operations" over LiveATC.net, though they didn't indicate how extensive it was.

Turtles are adorable reptiles and have been here way before man. It sickens me that certain oriental groceries slaughter them as a delicacy. I wish that laws would get passed to protect them but they are not endangered so I guess it will never happen. Hope that JFK continues to protect them unlike the eradication of Canadian Geese carried-out in recent memory at Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
