    KPHL Rare Visitors (ACTIVE)

    Hello,
I am an old-fashioned plane spotter that would have a notebook as his database for arrival and departure times. I would also have a camera on hand until I have decided to modern up and start using Flightaware, Flickr, and a few spotting forums so I can get call outs from people and have a more accurate description of what is coming in! So since KPHL (Philadelphia Int'l) is my home airport, I have decided to make a rare visitor page so I can figure out what I need to get and what I missed because this wont only make me a better KPHL spotter, but everyone else.
    Thanks,
    Majd

Ohh... I just use flightaware for that. I meant to use this page as a database for rare visitors like An-124s, B744s, Il-76s and etc.

Pictures from June 27, 2014. The biz jet shots were taken from the intersection by Atlantic Aviation. Yes, I did climb that rock wall. The Speedbird 772, Lufthansa A346, and Eagles A319 were taken from the UPS lot next to that relentless wall of doom. Other highlights are a 328JET, Astra, and Avanti

Nice sets thank you for sharing. I like the biz-jets. When I started out I was old fashioned too, I would write all arrivals and departures down in a notebook and go spotting. The new apps they have now are excellent, they let you put alerts in so you can program in the tail numbers and it will send an alert to your phone. It also takes a little bit of the excitement away because you know what's coming, but they are super helpful. I like spotting with the apps a lot more than without them. Thanks again for sharing the pics I look forward to seeing more.

Oh nice, my old-fashioned style helped me develop some talent of being able to guess the rare visitors! Considering that I am a kid, I came pretty far over my 13 years of plane spotting!

A bittersweet Monday featuring sweet arrivals of the Antonov 124, as well as the Panthers A319! What made it bitter was that today marked the last scheduled British Airways 767-300ER! But those will be replaced by 787s!

    Thanks!

    Wednesday morning:

    UPS MD11

    FedEx 757

The highlight of the day; the Qatar FC Barcelona special.
    Final for 27R.

One of the largest commercial jet aircraft along with one of the smallest.
The An-124 departed this evening as ADB8146 to RAF Brize Norton with the UK Chinook onboard.

    ABX/DLH 767
I was happy to finally be at the airport early enough to catch this arrival.

UPS MD11 with a late rotation and nice angle of attack.

Ship 700, the first US plane in the new colors.

    American West retro departing.
    A new catch for me.

The very next departure was the Allegheny retro.

Brand new E-170 delivered last month with the new winglets.

Qatar departing on its way back to DOH.

The 2nd day of QTR 77W operations and we've already got one of their specials, hopefully we'll get to see one of their Oneworld birds soon.
And hopefully Speedbird 69 will arrival on schedule...

Fourth day of 77W service and Qatar is sending A7-BAF, one of their oneworld specials!
To bad it'll be cloudy tomorrow...

Philly also got a few more weather diversions from EWR again tonight.
