    Unhappy Good and Bad News

Oh anyway, there is an Antonov An-124 at KPHL as we speak! August 17 also marks the last 734 flight for US Airways (will be arriving at 5 PM)

I was along the tree line, on the western side of that canal.

My pleasure. The flight finally seems to be consistently coming in each morning around 7:15-7:30.

Saw that on the tracker, it arrived last night from French Guiana of all places as ADB16F. It was operated by UR-82008; painted in ADB's new livery, a great looking bird.

Watch your date, the last flight is the 19th. The callsign will be "US737" CLT-DFW-PHL-CLT.

Evne though these are posted in my other thread I'd though I'd post them here too for documentation purposes:

Theses shots were taken while sailing on the Delaware River:

Allegheny retro four miles to runway 27R.

FDX9004, one of the new 763s, inbound from MEM for some type of charter...

    ..with the ramp tower behind.

Thanks to Paul for the heads up about N757SS coming in; I decided to head over to the airport yesterday evening. PMM757 was delayed by 30 minutes but thankfully came in just as the sun set.

Here's some highlights form yesterday evening:

    Brand new US/AA A321 delivered on August 5th, N584UW.

    FedEx MD11 from MEM.

    Arriving from Cancun.

    Through the trees.

Note the pealed paint from where the Star Alliance logo once was.

Inbound from Teterboro, arriving at its home-base.

    Another new US/AA A321.

    MD10 nose.

    Close encounter:
ROU1835 763 crossing the path of a nice Challenger 3,000ft below.

By this time the sun was getting awfully low on the horizon and diffused by some haze.

    "Speedbird 69"

Very odd but the beacon didn't flash at all when the 787 came in?!?!?

The 400th EJet with and A380 overflight.

    DLH441, A380 from IAH.

Finally with next-to-no light the Seattle Mariners charter appeared on final arriving from Detroit after beating the Tigers earlier that day.

The Dallas Stars logo can still be seen on the tail even though that decal was taken off sometime in 2010.

Excuse the fence; it was cool seeing the buses and trucks quickly pull up to the plane and just as fast pull away.

Ended the day by finally getting a decent shot of the Wheels Up citation.

Thanks Kiffy, I didn't even notice that! I saw it yesterday at BWI, and I plan to see it retire tonight!

Were getting diversions tonight! Stay Tuned!

Lufthansa 414 Heavy, type Airbus A330-300 diverted to KPHL from Munich! We got a DLH A333 from EDDF today so I didn't bother with that one.

I had to drive my mother and grandmother to the airport this morning so I used that as an excuse to do some spotting. I hadn't been to PHL in nearly a month.

    AAL73 departing 27L to CLT.

My mom's flight departing to RSW.

    UPS204 climbing away to Louisville.

I was happy to finally get a close shot of the Nevada flag and thankfully before it gets the awkwardly small "American" titles.

A nice King Air owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia (N2VA).

AWE9072 to CMI (University of Illinois-Willard Airport) must have been operating some type of charter.

I had been waiting and waiting for QTR to takeoff on 27L. I could see it sitting in the middle of the two runways for about twenty minutes and then it finally began moving... to runway 9R...

I had to make a "mad dash" back to my car and then to the other side of the airport before it took-off. I got in what I though was a good position to see it departing.
It turned much earlier then I expected but I don't mind the result. I love that they have "Qatar" on the belly.

I stayed for a few more departures:
    Heading to MIA.

    Eagles logojet headed for MSP.

The surprise of the day parked along the road at Atlantic; Saudi Arabian medevac G-V (HZ-MS5B).

And finally Air France headed to ATL overhead.

Nice shots as always Kiffy! I love that Saudi G-V, it is the definition of a rare visitor. It is pretty good speculation for UN Week at KJFK. I might be down there either tomorrow or Sunday just in the hopes of getting some kind of IL, a 747SP, a 727, and the Amiri Flight 748 or 788.

The Saudi G-V is used for Medevac missions for their citizens. Notice the EKG cheatline. It's not used for VIPs. Most common destination in the Northeast is BWI, for obvious reasons.
