    PHX 5-23-14

Had (a lot of) time before my flight, so I went up to the parking garage which has great views of each runway. Nice change of pace from JFK.

Nice set. I really need to go back to PHX, it's been 10 months since I left the state (pretty close to 10 months to the day, I left on 7/24 I think) and I'm having withdrawals.

I think that December through February and May through August are the best months to spot from T4. It's good all year round, but those few months seem to yield the best shots.

Thanks, guys. Felipe, the light was really great when I was up there in the late evening. I had planned on being up there all day, but went here instead :-)

Wow, very nice Eric. I need to get out there to both locations!!! Does Phx always have that military presence? Was excited to the F-18.

The 161st ARW "Copperheads" of the AZ ANG is based out of PHX. That is the only military wing that permanently flies out of there, weekend movements are typically sporadic, but they do happen, weekdays are usually decently busy.

Training exercises typically bring KC's from other states.

Sometimes on the weekends there will be F-18s and Harriers that stop at PHX and IWA for the weekend, I've seen a few, unfortunately they typically park at Cutter and use 25L/7R since that's the closest runway, I've also seen a few random T-38s C-130s, and a C-17. IWA seems to be a better bet for military transients, although every now and then you get weekends with no movement whatsoever.
