    KLAX 5/1-5/3/2014

Headed out to LAX this past weekend to finally get a taste of some evening northside spotting. Definitely worth taking two days off from work to fly out for this trip. Only down side was I could not get the China Southern A380 as it came in around 8:00 each night I was out at LAX.

My first capture of a bird with Split-Scimitar winglets

Philippenes started Triple 7 service to LAX on Saturday

Tried some night shots with the 1Dx from the hotel parking garage well after dark. These shots were taken at 40,000 ISO and 1/80 sec

Steve I know you did some noise reduction on those night shots but even so, WOW!!!

I don't believe I've ever seen clear shots of planes flying at NIGHT. We have entered a new age with this ISO performance

I totally agree with William I have never seen such a crisp hand held fast moving subject shot. You know I am going to try this since I now have a new camera and see my noise ninja can get it this clean. Awesome job Steve.

Thanks for all the kind words gentlemen. Just for comparison, this is a "as shot" copy of the Qantas shot above. The only editing done was cropping and resizing.

Yeah, figures they wouldn't have the 787 while I was there.....But I guess it was a good trade-off for it not raining during my visit. Haha!
