    SHD 5/1

I was able to stop by Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport last weekend. It's a beautiful airfield located just a few miles from I-81 in Weyers Cave, VA.

When I arrived a Titan HRP 4x4 ARFF truck was busy watering the grass.

There's always some nice business jets on the ramp.

    Hawker 900XP, N816SE.

    Beechjet 400A, N75TG.

    A shinny, 60 year old Cessna 170B, N4563C.

Then a DHC-8-202 skirted by the field. It's owned by Dynamic Aviation operated on behalf of the US Army. I was hoping it would make a touch and go but it just continued west at low level.

A nice PC-12, N12FA, owned by Fisher Auto Parts, arriving back at its home base.

My first time spotting an Air Canada Rouge plane, en-route to YYZ.

Cessna 172 making a low pass over runway 23 while practicing touch-and-goes.

Beechcraft King Air, N75Z, owned by Dynamic Aviation. You’re almost guaranteed to see one of these planes if you visit SHD.

Then a visit to the mini boneyard located to the North of the field.

Two 762s, N769DA has been here for a few years and a new addition, HS-JAD.

HS-JAD, is ex Jet Asia Airways. Nice to see a Thai registered plane in the Shenandoah Valley.

N769DA with its number 2 engine removed.

Dismembered remains of MD-80, LV-BOR, and Air Canada DC-9, N897JM.

    A view inside LV-BOR.

Seems like they've cut the fuselage to fit perfectly onto the trailer.

The main gear, wings and stabilizers.

Finally while I was leaving 2 F-18s flew over at high level.

    Hope you enjoyed!

Nice shots, I find it odd on the 1 MD-80 shot there are some intact looking seats complete with what looks like safety cards and barf bags still inside. I made 1 visit to LYH during a childhood vacation and got to watch 2 prop-liners come and go. A Piedmont YS-11 and Piedmont FH-227B with those cool sounding Darts.

looks like a Dead/drunk man on the wing of that md80. Shame that dash didn't pop in for a touchngo. I'm gonna be over that way this summer in hopes of snagging one, either at shd or bridgewater.

I thought that was strange too, they tore out the overhead bins and paneling but kept the seats exactly as they were...
