    Oaklanc County intl, KPTK

Some spotting from one of Michigan's lesser known airports. Oakland county intl airport is ranked the 12th busiest GA airport in the world.

What are your stats on that ranking? Crunching some FAA movements data (CY2013, adding "Itinerant GA" plus "Local Civil" - which excludes mil, air carrier, and air taxi), I get PTK as #51 in the country.
    The top 10 are:
    Deer Valley, AZ - DVT - 354,891
    Daytona Beach, FL - DAB - 285,005
    Centennial, CO - APA - 256,757
    Mesa/Falcon, AZ - FFZ - 256,217
    Van Nuys, CA - VNY - 255,941
    Sanford, FL - SFB - 255,659
    Prescott, AZ - PRC - 255,280
    Long Beach, CA - LGB - 241,522
    Tamiami, FL - TMB - 241,386
    Grand Forks, ND - GFK - 232,928
    PTK - 107,722

Air taxi will include some Part 135 Regional operators, but also lots of bizjet charters. I filtered out airports with more than 10,000 air carrier operations (Islip had 9,979, for example) since that's a good way to exclude airline hubs and then added back the air taxis, but that still bumps PTK only to #44.

For reference using the "with air taxi definition", FRG ranked 10th with 215K, TEB 20th at 161K, ISP 71st at 95K, and MMU 141st with 64K. HPN was filtered, but would have been 54th with 107K, although some of that will be Cape Air and 135 Regionals.

PTK may just be tracking biz-jet movements. FRG may have 215k operations a year, but the overwhelming majority of those are flight school operations in C172 & PA-28's,
There is no way FRG has more biz-jet traffic than TEB, MMU or HPN. They probably are close to if not slightly higher than ISP, but if you get 20 biz-jet's at FRG a day, that's busy.
