I'll be more than happy to race you for the bottom, Don. I've been working on my moonwalk for months! I believe last year's "winner" and "runner-up" are not participating this year.

    Hello Guys,
General question, my understanding from last year event is that there is a designated are for spectator. Is this a good spot to do some spotting?
    Thanks,

Last year's spectator area would have been great for spotting. However the course changes from year to year, so there are no guarantees.

Bad news. As of a little while ago, it was announced that cameras and bags will not be allowed this year due to "security concerns".

I wonder if they made this decision because they feel spotters hold up the completion of the race? I do remember the security trucks honking at photographers to move it along
and cross the finish line. This really sucks.

What a bunch of crap... At least it was for a good cause.
Probably the youngest spotter ever to walk up the face of the mounds.

I wouldn't be surprised - I'm sure this isn't what they mean by a "Runway Run".

As I recall from last year, it was really only 1 ops person who seemed to have an issue with the speed we were moving at. The other ops folks, along with PAPD seemed to have absolutely no problem with us whatsoever. Heck, one of the PAPD cars even started pushing Kennedy Ground over their loudspeaker.

The event organizers publicly state that walkers are welcome and that was exactly what we were last year. We were always considerate to other participants, including encouraging them to start ahead of us because we knew we would be walking slowly. If a plane came along, we would stop, line up a shot, and then keep moving for the most part. The only time I remember stopping for anything more than a few seconds was when one of the ops guys called us over to his SUV for a friendly chat.

I have emails out to both the organizers and Port, we will see what comes of it. But I am not optimistic.
