Australia 2014 (Running Thread)- Image HEAVY

    Hello Guys,

After something of an absence from posting photos here these past 2 months, I am back-albeit half a world away. I successfully traversed JFK and made it here to SYD on QF108 this past Friday, where I will be until Late July. While spotting wasn't necessarily in the plan for the immediate days following my arrival, the sudden announcement of the imminent closure of the airport observation deck prompted me to head for the airport the afternoon of my arrival, and a rare Tupolev attending Sunday's G20 finance minister meeting prompted an early rise on Saturday-so 2 spotting trips in my first 24 hours in Australia, and my first outings of 2014 to boot. Anyhow, I got plenty of firsts for me in the following set, so I hope you enjoy!

Day One-Pardon the heat haze, it was sadly inevitable from the deck

Thank's guys! This is probably about half of what I shot, the rest was either to heat hazed for my tastes or obstructed by clouds on day 2, which you can probably see also happened to the Tu-214 sadly. The more amazing thing for me down here is that I actually have a view of the airport from my dorm. Not a photo worthy view, but I can see the heavies moving around in the distance, which is cool! If the skies clear I hope to go snag some more shots from the observation deck before it closes.

    So stay tuned :)

Excellent stuff. Is the Tupolev RA-64010? If so, it comes to Newark roughly once per year.
