I got some "pleasant" still's from my cheapo($200) Panasonic HD camera...

    And I like your definition - buttkissers.net - great !!!
... thinking of bringing someone along to do video while I take the photo. Hah thanks there's even better nicknames to define anet and the other big site, but somehow I feel the humor won't be appreciated here. You can ask 'my boy' Dan from Orlando on facebook for other 'definitions'

The guys who had Canon's 100-400 on crop bodies have a 640mm equivalent - that's about good enough for 04L.
I was using all 500mm on a crop sensor body from Inwood Park and even though I filled about half the frame, you're shooting through so much air there's significant distortion to deal with for 4L arrivals, maybe Bayswater is closer though

Some more of my catches. I was only out a couple of days due to work schedule, so I missed a lot. Nice to see the ones I missed were posted by others. Great work everyone!

Too bad the tail of this night bird was behind the deicing tent.

Dusk shot of the IL62 is awesome. For the TU154 I don't recall anywhere to get that close view of take offs at JFK, was that from the ramp?

I've never had the chance to be at Bayswater in the morning. Not sure if i got this right: arivals are normally 4R and those line up shots for t/o with the water visible are on 4L? I think someone said earlier the UN planes were using 4L. How many mms are needed for 4L / anyone has any sunny 4L arrival shots i can see?

Yes that's true for the most part, and yes they were sending the VIP's to the left side, at least while I was there

You can see the distortion in this 4L arrival, taken with my Sigma 150-500 at pretty much full zoom, @f9:
