Miss them too. It would be interesting to see how much of the old branding and livery they use if they return.

If you look at their web site - http://easternairlines.aero/ - it's full of old Eastern stuff, and their drawings of new aircraft are in the hockey stick colors. I was reading somewhere that they paid big bucks for all of the Intellectual Property of the former Eastern Airlines, and seem to have adopted that history as their own.

They have re-formed before. If they start flying the 757 again, with the '757' tails, then I will break out the bubbly

Eastern can form an alliance with PeopleExpress, Baltia, California Pacific, and all the other startups and will never be.

Maybe they can start with this one! Pure oldschool :) Its Probably the last Origional EAL aircraft still in the livery. Would have been nice of they brought it back in service.

they claim they are going with A319's
I was reading about Eastern on wikipedia and noticed it seems they had the same aircraft crash twice within 2 years.

There is still one ex-Eastern aircraft still floating around in commercial service:

    http://www.planespotters.net/Product...US-Airways.php

USAirways had several ex-EAL 757s, but they have all left the fleet and seems they have been scrapped except for this one.

Several of the EAL Airbus 300's still exists in storage, but it appears none are flying.

    Wow only 1 left?
But now that I think about it yea their fleet was comprized mainly of aircraft that are not pretty much Stored or Broken up. I do wonder how many of the 727s especially the private ones might be ex eastern.

Several of the ex-Eastern A300s and 757s are still in service, primarily as freighters. 2 or 3 of the A300s are still around, while there are still half a dozen 757s. One of the 757s is Honeywell's engine testbed. Even 3 of the DC-9s are still reported to be in service in Venezuela.

Sorry, Senga, but the pair of 727s at Hagerstown were broken up a few years ago.

I had the feeling they had been (Pan Am and the Eastern). I was there in 2010 again and for a side on shot of the EAL 727 and it was missing many pieces at that point. Oh well so I guess no EAL727 :) Not that they would have used it anyway hehehe.
