i believe I flew a former Eastern 727 at Champion,no matter, when I was a kid I owned and loved an all metal white top Whisperjet, and must of watched and dreamed on them a million times thundering out of LGA, and JFK, along with Champion, and NE's Yellowbirds,my favorite 3 holer livery.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

Looks like they're now opting for 737s.

That 73- really does look awesome! My guess is, this would be their retro jet livery, vs. the entire fleet's livery. As much as we are nostalgic for the old Eastern and would love to see the airline come back exactly as we remember it, Madison Ave will likely impact the new brand.

It's probable that an "evolved" Eastern look will emerge. Something that pays homage to the old Eastern branding with a contemporary spin. Could have some original elements, like the logo icon or the "hockey stick". Just don't count on it being exactly as you remember it. And you really can't argue with these kind of marketing decisions. The new Eastern will need to be a competitive player in the JetBlue, Virgin America world that has emerged since the airline folded.

Very insightful take on the marketing that will probably occur, Don

Thanks Will. I've picked up a thing or two about these sort of things in client meetings.
