Emergency landing on the Major Deegan?

WNYC reporting a single-engine aircraft made an emergency landing on the Deegan at 233rd Street. Anyone know anything else?

[EDIT: There's a picture now - the photo is washed out, but it's a PA-28, nosewheel collapsed, and there was no prop strike, so it definitely wasn't turning when the plane landed]

[EDIT2: NBC says it's registered in South Salem, NY, which probably makes it N9409J]

Heard he was heading to LGA. Not sure if original destination or called a Mayday!! Minor injuries for the 3 aboard. Stay away from Major Deegan in that area its a mess!!

As of 5:45pm the Major Deegan North was still closed north of Van Cortland Park exit... may be re-opened now. Most car traffic is diverting through my neighborhood to the Henry Hudson/Saw Mill... it is a real mess...

OK, NYC Notify just sent a message that the highway is now re-opened again.

Crazy or not about traffic, but....most important thing in that case is that no one died - pilot, passengers and no one while driving on the highway
