Got an email for these acceptances while spotting this morning at EWR with some 22L departures.

BRING BACK THE KJFK/KLGA OBSERVATION DECKS
UN week winning.
'My idea of a good picture is one that's in focus and of a famous person doing something unfamous.' Andy Warhol
Haha yeah, I just happened to be online at the right time, when I got the acceptance emails.
Also thanks for the brief remark on the one shot. I wish more screeners would do that, even though it takes a little bit of time for the screeners I think it saves time because there is less confusion. I thought it was dark but I was trying not to blow-out the nose since a.net seems to be giving out "overexposed" rejections when the histogram says otherwise...
The first and only time I can remember seeing a tri-jet at a gate.
I see the screeners have been working overtime!
Chris,
Keep in mind we are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED to use histogram, Equalization, guides, or anything other than the image that shows up in front of us on the browser window. Period. So it becomes VERY subjective. This is why you see inconsistency. It boils down to fairness. So, whenever you think it is a borderline rejection, do appeal it. At least an experienced Head Screener will look at it. Not that they are perfect either, but at least you would have had a dweeb like me look at it and a very experienced screener look at it. I believe Headscreeners are A LOT MORE FORGIVING than we regular screeners are. I notice that from the internal messaging we have.
I think you should always consider selective editing when you deal with a tough image. Always being careful to not overdo it. I sometimes will tone down a specific area if the light is uneven on an aircraft. So I will increase contrast selectively on the fuselage but leave hot parts lower contrast to reduce the effect of looking overexposed. I was once told by a very wise screener... start with a well lit side-on and you will have very few if any issues. Try and push the envelope and you will run into trouble ... but there is some flexibility.
