    Blue Angels Flyby Friday

Per ZNY, 7 Blue Angels aircraft will depart TEB at 1:00-1:15 pm on Friday and fly up to the Tappan Zee Bridge. From there, they will do 3 passes along the Hudson (south, north, and then back south again) at 1000 feet and 280 knots. The purpose of the flights is to photograph the Blue Angels with the WTC in the background. It will be 6 of the Blue Angels in a delta formation with the 7th taking photos.

Tip of the hat to NYCA Contributing Editor Gabe Andino for bringing this to my attention.

Ben, thanks for posting that info because News 12 mentioned the Blue Angels Hudson River flyover tonight also.
BTW, the Blues are scheduled to do a flyover for the Army-Navy game in Philly on Sat. also, weather permitting

A Pilot friend of mine emailed me that There is a Blue angel at TEB, He heard that the all of Angels will arrive Thursday morning and depart approx. 1445 to do a photo op at the Freedom Tower!

Does that mean a flyby of the Freedom Tower today and another flyby on the Hudson tomorrow or everything is happening today only?

Anyone know of a good vantage point for spotting?
I'm thinking liberty state park? If you went to the WTC planes over Hudson would be backlit I think.

Liberty State Park would be a good spot to get a similar shot to this one from back in 2012,
that Blue Angel #2 just posted on Twitter today:

BTW, on one of the 3 passes you might even want to try and get the "Empty Sky Memorial Walls"
there at LSP in the foreground, with the WTC in the background, as the Blues flyby possibly !!
    Good luck !!

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -The U.S. Navy's elite Blue Angels jets will fly along the Hudson River and past Ground Zero Friday afternoon, the city announced.
Seven F/A-18 Hornets will fly in front of One World Trade Center for a photo shoot, according to the Office of Emergency Management. One jet will take photos while six will fly in formation.
The aircraft will take off from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey at about 1:15 p.m. and will make three passes along the river; south, north, and then south again, the city said.
The jets are expected to fly at about 1,000 feet.
The Blue Angels squadron is a flight demonstration team that performs at dozens of air shows and events every year. The team recruits aviators from the Navy and Marine Corps.

The Blue Angels 3 passes looked pretty good on the Jersey City Earth Cam and NY Harbor cam also.
Skies looked perfect and I hope some of you were able to get some good shots of the flybys too
