Park at field 4 and walk under the parkway to the beach. You can't really see the demo from the parking lot

I only stopped by for the Blue Angels but according to Rob Rider's announcement Fat Albert and the Osprey were the only performers to make an appearance.

Yes I left Farmingdale at 1:20 and got there just before Fat Albert did their Flyby or Weather Reconaissance Flight as Rob Reider called it. Soon after he announced the Angels wouldnt fly.

Weather was awful today with cool temps, low ceilings and visibility but still got Angel action, watching six of the Hornets depart right by me to Annapolis while I was parked on New Highway then saw them return 2 at a time out of the clouds onto Runway 14 while I stood along 110. Also Angel 7 went up twice for VIP flights, once with a teacher from LI and the second with WABC reporter NJ Burkett who I talked with as he was leaving!! Such a really nice guy he showed me video he took during his flight and we took a pic together. He said he really didnt feel queazy till they landed and what he really loved was that sitting in the canopy of the Hornet you have such a wide view of everything!! The teacher chatted with people outside the fenced in portion of the tarmac and he still seemed in awe of the whole experience!! I loved his line that the pilot saw some fishing boats and said to him "Lets go say hi" as the dove to buzz the boats!!
Headed to the beach after chatting with NJ. Wasnt sure what would happen but figured what the heck!! They werent charging the fee which was nice and i parked and walked down to the shoreline at show center. Fat Albert came in and gave us a few nice low buzzes but when he left Rob Reider announced the Angels would be unable to fly. A couple of guys told me the only aircraft that flew in was the Osprey. Everyone packed up and while on the Wantagh it just started pouring out. I'll be there Sunday now!!
For me another cool thing was seeing the two NYSPD UH-1s depart from Sheltair. The Grey Riders headed out to the beach LZ, both back doors open looking like they were ready for action!! And that sound of the Huey blades cant be beat!! Interesting when they returned they were wheeled into one of the hangars on the Atlantic tarmac.

They did the whole trip in about an hour and change!! Heard Tower say they had to get them right out as they were flying with minimum fuel!! They departed 4 then 2 disappearing quickly into the clouds.
