PANTS UP, DON'T LOOT!
Exactly. In the early stages of the merger, CO crews still flew on CO equip, while UA crew were on UA equipment.
I believe it was just recently passed that the pilots have accepted 1 seniority list for both. Now that that hurdle has passed, crews should be able to bid on whatever equipment they want. (ie: Airbus crews can put in to transfer to B737's, B737 crew's can bid on open Airbus spots, etc).
Eventually, once all the labor contracts are finalized, the CO Certificate number will cease to exist.
Great perspective on several of those, Don. And interesting explanation about the cert, John
Great Set Don - looks like a great event at EWR
