NY Metro Spotting Extravaganza, 7/16-7/18 IMAGE HEAVY

In an orgy of planespotting prehaps rivaling only the excesses of UN Week, I put my car's new radiator to the test this week as I attempted to bag as many aircraft on my 'list' as possible before starting my new job on Monday. Of course it would have to take place during the worst heat wave we've had in a while. It was so hot during the entire time I would have been less drenched had I stood in the shower. So, I earned my shots to say the least.

    Tuesday

    EWR

grab shot as I was heading up 12th Ave, he was flying over the Intrepid

    LGA

    JFK

then of course they switched to the 4's

But I quickly had enough of that kind of light, and headed into Far Rock

I want to personally thank whoever put the Marina location on the spotting map. Simply outstanding location with incredible light.

I managed to avoid the new American livery for as long as I could. Alas, my luck had run out

    And as a comparison:

So, you tell me which looks better

    My first -600

And a shot that would have been epic, had it not been for a passing cloud

    Thursday

    JFK

This one was many months in the waiting

A sudden switch to 31R right before my last subject arrived. Had I been on Tower instead of Approach I never would have made it to Panera in time from Woodmere. Top-lit, but I'll take it

I'll probably never go back to the T5 garage again unless a whole car of people is going up there. $12 for an hour and a half??? I was ready to tell any FJC 'professional' that for that much money, I was entitled to host an impromptu gala up there if I wanted. Fortunately, not a single vehicle came up there. So that's all the spotting I'll be doing for a bit, but I'll be back when the light is more wintery

    Stay cool

    nicely done
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

Damn, there's a whole lotta spotter's heart and soul in these sets William. That Allegheny climbing turn is pretty sweet. I'm glad to see that one can still capture 13 touch-downs from T5 and that angle is still unobstructed in the wake of the new structures going up.
