I actually just got home not too long ago. Just want to say it was a great few days. Couldn't ask for a better group of people to spend a few days spotting with.

Finally back on the East Coast and the only part that is happy about it is my skin! Multiple full days roasting in the sun beat me up!

I really had a great time. When we set out to do this, my mind went to that week in 2004 during the Airliners International convention, where spotters FILLED every spotting location. I wanted to recreate that so bad and being out there with so many people was just great.

As I've always said, the interest in planes is only half of it. The other half is getting to enjoy them with great people. This past weekend ranks high on my list of aviation experiences :)

There will be more of these, in cities all over the place. So stay tuned :)

Got back Monday morning from LAX RWY 25R to JFK RWY 31L on Delta 1162 (B767-300ER N196DN)

This also ranks high on my list of great turnouts ... even Raj made a last day appearance which is always nice. Love sharing stories and pictures with good friends. Hunting planes in LAX with Mark, Eric, John, Matt and company was terrific. While not nearly as difficult as it can be at JFK, it nevertheless provides enough of a challenge to be exciting!

Finally, hats off to Southwest for PERFECTLY planning all their regular scheme aircraft during the best light hours for photography and sending each and every one of their specials while there was little or no light.

Thanks to Phil and Jason primarily but also to everyone that contributed to the experience. Thanks to the cloud gods for giving us excellent WX throughout ...

Looking forward to when the event is held in DME/UUDD

I remember several years ago - we did an unofficial get together here at FLL - Phil and Tom Alfano were a couple of the ones that made it down here - it was a total blast!! I think we should organize a MIA/FLL weekend down here :) (Says he that can't travel at the moment - but REALLY wants to see everyone again). I know Nick V has been wanting to come down here for a trip - I'm sure a few others could do it!! :)

I thought I would share a few of the ones I was able to get through so far. It'll be months before I am done with my limited photo editing time!
