    Where to sell your lenses?

Anyone have suggestions on where I'd have luck selling a lens? I'm trying to get rid of my 70-300L without taking too much of a loss--I paid $1,250 for it and wouldn't take less than $1,100. I tried eBay with Best Offers but the offers I'm getting are between $950-1050.

    Thanks!

$50 doesn't seem like such a bad hit if you're asking 1100 and getting an offer for 1050...just sayin'

I would try using KEH.COM, Amazon, and Craigslist. I always sell via ebay. I will keep re-listing and item until it sells. Eventually someone will pick it up. Craigslist is full of scammers and people trying to lowball you on offers.

The problem with ebay is they make you use paypal, and they are a bunch of scammers as well. I tried getting something off ebay recently and my purchase was denied, saying I had to be 'verified'. By the time I figured out what that meant and what I had to do, I lost the D300s I was trying to buy. I submitted a complaint saying that after having spent 5 grand through them, they should know me by now and I shouldn't be forced to link my bank account to some service, which leaves it open to the next time paypal gets hacked(because it will). They basically said 'tough titties', and I basically said 'goodbye then' and erased my paypal account. I don't want to have to get their credit card either, which was the only other option around this. What a bunch of nonsense, they already had my credit card info

As much as I love them they are very proficient at lowballing their offers on used gear

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I'm going to start checking out these sites and figure out which is the best to use.

I still haven't had luck on eBay. I had a guy keep pestering me to sell it for $850. Really?

I think I'm going to be better off trying one of these other sites. It would be nice to save some money but not being subjected to eBay fees!

Gene, I did try B&H but they offered $716.

Of course because they are the middle man and have to resell at profit. Ebay people, ebay.
