JFK 5-30-13 [Norwegian Air Shuttle A340]

Was all set up at the mounds for perfect light, then everything started going 13L :-(

The only shot I got at the mounds was this 13L departure

It's fun watching a new airline try to figure out the 13L approach.

its fun watching the regulars too.when i was a kid a 707 got so out of whack that he sank to about 100 agl, then firewalled it, screaming over the block, ohh boy,i've flown it in the DC3,727,and Classic 747,my favorite approach.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

Yea, I was at my spot when Open Skies came over, I just forgot to turn my camera on and that's what I ended up with!

Nice catch guys... is Norwegian gonna be an A340 all the time or is it a more pedestrian 787 type job?

Nice catch on the Norwegian A340. Here are some from early this morning from the backyard as they bank for 13R. Enjoy!

The two below are 13L arrivals from the backyard

Like Moose mentioned in the other thread, the "Norwegian" A340 is a HiFly lease. Just like LOT leased the A330 from HiFly (and also used the EuroAtlantic 767) because of the 787 issues, Norwegian needs a spare aircraft since they planned to start service to JFK with the 787 today, but the 787 for the route got pushed back until September.

The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
