JFK - 5-16-13 BA (Open Skies)

I stopped by the Mounds yesterday for some late day spotting. British Open Skies was an unexpected surprise. The BA A320 Red Nose came in just after light fell off. Still chasing that thing.

Nice shots Don! The frenchman that I am has always wondered about AF's dirty planes. Does anyone know the story behind this? Typical french laziness or something else?

Yeah, I don't know why AF has that dirty plane legacy. My guess is that France has more rainfall than other countries? Wet runways constantly spray tire residue and soot onto the fuselage making it difficult to keep clean. Just a theory.

Nice set Don! Looks like you had some great light and two nice catches with the new American colors.

Thanks Jared and Akie. That Open Skies close-up shot is funny when you zoom in at full res. Some passenger look like they were out of their seats with faces pressed up against windows.

It kind of looked like the passengers were facing rearwards! Great light for these Don, I love the angle of the first shot of the German 744

Thanks. Some were facing rearwards. I looked up the the interior of that ship. Front cabin is set up biz jet style with Open Skies.
