Talking Night Photo Shoot - Bayport Aerodrome Saturday April 27 2013 - "Yuri's Night"

    Hello All,

I'm pleased to announce that as part of the "Yuri's Night" celebration sponsored by the Antique and Classic Aircraft Ent. Inc., there will be a NIGHT PHOTO SHOOT of selected aircraft from the Bayport Aerodrome. The emphasis will be on our Russian aircraft and will include the Yak-18, Yak-52, and Polikapov Po-2. In addition we plan on including the Waco, Bruner-Winkle Bird, and Stearman biplanes. The aircraft will be lit by one of our resident professional photographers.

No reservations or submission of photographs are required. The purpose of the Yuri's Night celebration is to raise funds for the full restoration to airworthy condition of our Yak-12M, currently on rebuild and display in Hangar 12. All that is required is a suggested donation of $10 per photographer, which is applied directly to the restoration fund. This is a great opportunity for you photogs who want to perfect your skills for applying for the next History Under the Stars!

The party starts at Hangar 12 at the Bayport Aerodrome at 4:00 PM onwards. The photo shoot will start at dusk therabouts. Wristbands/tickets will be available for sale toward food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), as well as raffles for airplane rides. There will also be an auction for aircraft rides that night. We are expecting a fun night and ALL proceeds go to the restoration effort.

We hope to see you there!

    Details are provided here:

    Cheers,
    Peter

If I wasn't working, I'd jump on this chance. Great opportunity, just the wrong weekend for me.
Thanks for letting us know Pete!

The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

Just a reminder to those who may not be familiar, the BAS hangars are on the North side of the field. Looking forward to seeing everyone and a great evening!
Directions: Sunrise Hwy to Nicolls Road South, take first right onto Church Street, Second left on Vitamin Drive, go to the end to Parking lot, and walk right in.

The party starts at 4pm. I believe the plan is to start the night photo shoot after sunset to take advantage of the last light of day (if it's a nice sunset) and then continue as it gets dark. I'm sure it will take some time to move around and reconfigure some of the aircraft. For a Saturday night party there will be folks there until 10pm I'm sure.

    Cheers,

    Peter
