    JFK - 4/7/13

Stepped out for a good part of the day, meet up with Eric and Akie for some spotting. Mid-morning hours were fine, but then by afternoon the sun decided to peak in-n-out of some clouds. Here are a few images I processed thus far with a few more to come later. The winds were pretty strong and there were a few go arounds. Enjoy!

    Unexpected - US Airways 400th

Don't recall seeing this registration here before .... VP-BUF

    Nice low approach for 13L

Too bad the clouds messed up the day, I was looking forward to coming out this afternoon.

Nice set, I'm pretty sure Moose caught that US Airways 400 today as well.

Thanks Kaz ..... here are a few more

After she missed her approached for 13L, I high tailed hoping to catch her when she got vectored for 22L. Below are the results (just made it!)

The below images were taken from the backyard as they make their final approach for 13L

Qantas (with a little Topaz processing)

Open Skies making her approach for 13L, ISO 1250, f/4 and 1/200 (and cleaned up as best as I could)

Very nice! That 400th used to come through PHL quite a lot, haven't seen it in a while

You didn't have any trouble at that initial location or are those 'suicide shots'?

William.....believe it or not, I didn't have any trouble (since no one really stopped). I stayed in my vehicle with my hazards on, and got my shots and departed, although I did come back a few times. When I use to bike ride through the field, I'd always stop at this location and just watch while resting. I only wish they'd put some nice park benches there (wishful thinking).

Beautiful, i caught N908NN over my house...too bad it was a belly shot :(
Anyways, i love when they do the 13l visual, i think its one of the only times you can get some other shots besides "blue sky" shots..
    Great shots everybody

That is a spectacular set! I have not seen many recent shots in a long time from that area right near the 13L threshold.... I LOVE this set.... More more more!!!!! As for getting 821JB, nice! Not many people have shot her at JFK soo far in service, shes been doing strictly JFK-SFO turns and will be for a while, shes out of town on special ops though right now.

So Biomuseo NEVER comes to JFK either in good conditions or while I am home. Of course, I am away for ONE weekend, it comes in under great light... FML!
