    Impressive, to say the least. My father-in-law often tells me of the flight he took in to Rome where the fog on the runway was so thick that they had to be towed all the way in from the runway. It seemed oddly unsafe until he mentioned that it was Tower Air, at which point it all made sense.

    foggy flghts like this are not hand flown. The aotumated systems these days make it all too easy, and an airline has to land based on set minimums, not a "eh, let's do it" decision by a gutsy Captain (and easy way to lose your stripes).

    I've landed sims in 600ft vis and it's pretty amazing.
