Mark that new 80-400mm looks like a real contender, thank you for posting. I was anticipating seeing some av shots with it and it is nice to see the first ones coming from a high-quality shooter such as yourself. I'm actually relieved it seems to be significantly better than the AF-D version.

Personally though I will wait for the first price drop

I was there that day! I didn't take any photos with a camera though (I'm not sure if the Port Authority or TSA would allow it without questioning me).

I was at Terminal 5. I got a decent shot of the Emirates A380 with my cell phone. I saw the American new livery out the window.

Coincidentally, my name is also Eric.

I love the lit up flightdeck shot. Nice job on them all!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

Thanks, I wish I had more time on the flight deck but they were running test while I was onboard.

Newbie question here guys.. how do you find out when interesting airplanes (like this new AA paint-scheme job) are going to arrive? Also, how do you get to "The Mounds"? Thanks in advance!

Hi Bill, I use the website Flightaware, by plugging in the registration of the a/c I want to track. However, not all airlines provide information on their flights in advance for whatever reason(Air Tran, Southwest) and some flights are outright blocked for security reasons(i.e. AF1, AF2).

See the spotting guides for location/directions info re: the Mounds. Now that summer is almost here, don't forget the insect spray
