    Air China switching to B773's

Not seen this posted but Air China are switching to 2 flights daily from 3/31. Both flights will be operated by B773 aircraft.

I hate seeing 744s leaving the skies, but boy will I be glad to see this change. The Air China 744s never really did anything for me. Will be nice seeing something else in those colors.

Unfortunately it means 1 less pax carrying 747 at Kennedy. The China 744's were staid looking, but made for nice HoBe bank shots!

Another 747 bites the dust. This is becoming very sad.

they have all gone to ANC !!
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

If I saw B-2447 one more time, I was likely to jump off a bridge... Good riddance!! Why wouldn;t they trhow a STICKER or TWO on these boring birds? As nice as the B747 is, even BAW OneWorld gets a bit boring

I am with Cary, let's see what the T7 brings as far as specials go.

I posted about this months ago. I will miss this B744; although the livery was not the best, it's 1 of the few 74s still flying. I often saw it at 12,000' feet over Coney heading southbound towards JFK. I mourn the loss of 1 of the last JFK 74s. The B773 is ugly; looking like a huge flying cigar with no shape or personality. Air China is an unfriendly airline as well but I posted about that separately. Will March 31 be the final day?

Anyone notice the similarity in livery with the Air China B744 and the NASA SCA used to ferry Orbiters, N905 ? They both have white fuselages with royal blue pinstripes over the windows and a light grey underbelly. I noticed this similarity last week while making an SCA 747 model. The tails of course are NOT similar. I plan to go out to JFK to see the B744 for the last time. Now, the only Far Eastern B744s will be China Air (Dynasty). B74F will still fly from Nippon, EVA, and KAL. As Phil so wisely stated, Another 1 bites the dust".

It's a good looking Triple, at least. Better looking than most of them.

So, does this mean we won't see any of the 747-8i's that Air China has ordered?
